studied guitar at the Conservatory of Music in Brno and at the "Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt" in Weimar, where he attend the class of Roland Zimmer. During his time of studying he was successful in different international competitions, such as those in Markneukirchen, Paris and Caracas.
His concert career took him to most European countries and to North- and South-America. He recorded several productions for both television- and radio-broadcast, manly in the Czech Republic. His LP/CD-Repertoire was produced by different labels, such as Supraphon, Panton, Hohner, Pehy, Bonton and Studio Principium, preferably presenting contemporary music.
Together with the accordionist Ivan Koval (Professor at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt" in Weimar) he founded a trio with violin, accordion and guitar. Many compositions by well know composers (e.g. Katzer, Wolschina, Fiala, Dvoracek) where especially written for and performed by the trio.
Today Martin Myslivecek is Professor for guitar at the "University of Music and the performing Arts" in Graz. Since 2004 he also has a guitar class at the Academy of Music "Leoš Janáček" in Brno.
Since it's foundation in 1997, he is head of the International Guitar Festival in Mikulov / Czech Republic.
