Thomas Kirchhoff
 German born guitarist Thomas Kirchhoff studied with the British virtuoso David Russell. Since 1986 he has played more than 1200 concerts in over 40 countries. Besides playing in the "Amadeus Guitar Duo" (www.amadeusduo.com) he and the German flautist Doris Dietz played as Duo "Ars Vivendi" between 1982 and 1992. He has produced twelve highly acclaimed CDs. Interviews and Cover stories with Thomas Kirchhoff and Dale Kavanagh appeared in Classical Guitar (2001), Gitarre & Laute (1996), Gitar och Luta (1999), Musikblatt (1994), Klassik Heute (2000), Akustik Gitarre (1998), Scala (1999) and Fono-Forum (2001), Soundboard (2003).
Prominent composers have dedicated Thomas Kirchhoff their works. Among them are concertos for two guitars and orchestra by Harald Genzmer, Gheorghe Zamfir, Gerald Garcia, Roland Dyens, Jaime Zenamon, Martin Herchenröder and Christian Jost. Works for guitar and flute and works for the "Amadeus Guitar Duo" have been written by a wide range of composers including Stephen Dodgson, Carlo Domeniconi, Roland Dyens, Jaime Zenamon, Martin Herchenröder, Stepan Rak, Markzus a. Rochus Aust, Toby Twining, Harald Genzmer, Peter Michael Hamel, and Christian Jost.
In 1992 he founded the International Guitar-Symposium Iserlohn, Germany (www.guitarsymposium.com). With more than 220 students and teachers from 40 countries it is one of today's most prominent international guitar seminars in Europe. Since 2001 he is teaching at the Musikhochschule Detmold (www.hfm-detmold.de).
