Roman Viazovskiy

was born 1974 in Donezk (Ukraine) . He took his first guitar-lessons at the age of twelve. From 1988 to 1992 he studied with Victor Kriwenko at the Music College of Donezk. He continued studying guitar with Walerij Iwko and conducting with Ludmilla Popowa, both at the Sergey Prokofjew Conservatory in Donezk. 1995 he received a scholarship of the President of the Ukraine, honouring his outstanding artistic personality.

After graduating in 1996, he continued his studies in Germany, first with Reinbert Evers at the Music Academy of Detmold/Münster and finishing with Tadashi Sasaki at the Music Academy of Aachen. He has won numerous national and international prizes and taken part in productions for TV and broadcast in the Ukraine, Germany, Spain and Japan. He has played concerts in Japan and almost every European country, including the most important festivals.

2001 he released his first CD "Fatum", which is celebrated by critics as "definitely one of the best recordings I have reviewed in the last years" (Classical Guitar Magazine).
